Directions to Pine Island

 

Pine Island is located on the South West Coast of Florida.

 We would love to have you come and experience the spirit of Pine Island

 and its businesses, art, music, events and festivals

 

Traveling South on I-75:

Take Exit 161 (Jones Loop Rd.). Cross over US 41, name changes to
Burnt Store Rd. Continue 15 miles to SR 78 (Pine Island Rd.).  Turn right onto Pine Island Road. Travel  seven and a half miles, you will pass through the Fishing/Art Village of Matlacha, cross the drawbridge over Matlacha Pass, and continue on to the first Stop SIGN. This is Pine Island!

 

Traveling North on  I-75:

Take Exit 143 (SR 78/Bayshore), left back under interstate. Continue until road changes from 4-lane to 2 lane.  The Road name will change from Bayshore to Pine Island Road. After traveling about 22 miles,  you cross over Burnt Store/Veterens Parkway.  Continuing on about seven and a half miles, through the Fishing/Art Village of Matlacha, cross the drawbridge over Matlacha Pass, and continue on to the first Stop SIGN. This is Pine Island!

 

BY LAND FROM THE AIRPORTS:   Pine Island can be reached from the Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers (one hour), the Sarasota Airport (one and a half hours), or the Tampa Airport, a two and a half hour drive.


From the Southwest Florida International Airport:

 
Leave the airport and follow the signs to I-75. Take I-75 north to the first exit (Colonial Blvd). Take a left at this exit (west) and follow Colonial Blvd over the Caloosahatchee River, a $1.00 bridge toll. This puts you on Veterans Parkway, after about six miles you come to SW Pine Island Road. turn left (west) onto Pine Island Road. Travel seven and a half miles, through the Fishing/Art Village of Matlacha, cross the drawbridge over Matlacha Pass, and continue on to the first Stop SIGN. This is Pine Island!


From the Sarasota and Tampa Airports:


Leave the airport and follow the signs to I-75. Take I-75 south to Punta Gorda and the Jones Loop Road exit # 161. Take a right off I-75 (southwest) and travel about one and a half miles to Route 41. Cross Route 41 and you will be on Burnt Store Road. Follow Burnt Store Road for about 18 miles to SW Pine Island Road. Turn right (west). Travel about seven and a half miles on Pine Island Road, through the Fishing/Art Village of Matlacha, cross the drawbridge over Matlacha Pass, and continue on to the first Stop SIGN.
